I should have been devastated.
But I wasn't.
At the time the news finally came around,
I was ready for tears and tearing.

But a little disappointment
A little dust off the shoulders
On to a busy night in the office.

What should be, isn't.
But should is an elusive word
that doesn't act
or sing
or dance
or sway.

What is,
is.
And is has a state.
A presence in the present.
(cliché?)

And now what is
is possibility.
