a whole new level of parental hovering
I was talking with a parent leader in our youth ministry programming about parent hoverers a few days ago. He is not guilty of hovering in any sense and finds the practice to be particularly humorous on most occasions. We were laughing about how overly protective parents of small children can be (a la bubble wrapping hotel rooms) when he shared with me a horrifying story.
He is a businessman who hires people for his company on occasion. He often interviews recent college grads for entry-level positions. He told me that on more than one occasion he's received phone calls from the disgruntled parent of a interviewee questioning why his or her child was not hired for the position.
SERIOUSLY??? Parents are calling companies and complaining that their child was not hired?
